Single Post System

1 in P / 2 in P/ 4 in L

A versatile ground-mounted solar PV system available in 1 in Portrait, 2 in Portrait and 4 in Landscape configurations, combining efficient installation with project-specific engineering and flexible UK manufacturing.

Overview

The HTR Solar Single-Post Fixed-Tilt System is designed for ground-mounted solar PV projects where efficient foundation installation, straightforward assembly and adaptable structural design are key priorities.

Available in 1 in Portrait (1P), 2 in Portrait (2P) and 4 in Landscape (4L) configurations, the system uses one primary support post at each frame position. This can substantially reduce the number of foundation locations compared with an equivalent twin-post arrangement.

Reducing the number of foundations can simplify setting out, shorten piling and installation programmes, and reduce the number of locations potentially affected by early refusal or difficult ground conditions. Where the longitudinal post spacing is comparable, a single-post arrangement would typically require approximately 50% fewer foundation positions than a twin-post system.

Because each post supports a greater share of the structural loading, the post size, section thickness, embedment depth and associated connections may need to be increased. HTR Solar therefore engineers each system around the project’s module dimensions, table geometry, tilt angle, wind and snow actions, ground conditions, corrosion environment and required design life.

Our in-house engineering and UK manufacturing capabilities allow the profiles, connections and foundation interfaces to be coordinated as one project-specific mounting solution.

Why Choose Our Single-Post System?

  • Fewer Foundation Positions

One primary post is used at each frame location, potentially reducing the number of foundations by approximately 50% compared with an equivalent twin-post arrangement.

  • Faster Foundation Installation

Fewer foundation positions can reduce surveying, setting out, piling, testing and installation activities, helping shorten the overall construction programme.

  • Reduced Exposure to Early Refusal

Reducing the number of driven foundations lowers the risk of encountering obstructions or early pile refusal and can also reduce the need for pre-drilling or alternative foundation treatments.

  • Simplified Site Assembly

A reduced number of uprights and foundation interfaces can simplify component handling, frame alignment and on-site assembly.

  • Clearer Access Along the Array

The single line of primary posts creates a less congested structural arrangement beneath the modules, supporting easier movement during installation, inspection and routine maintenance.

  • Project-Specific Structural Design

Posts, rafters, stringers, bracing and connections are engineered for site loads and ground conditions, with larger or thicker sections specified where required.

Module Fixing Options

Over-Panel Clamping

PV modules are secured from above using mid-clamps between adjacent modules and end-clamps at the ends of each module row. Clamp locations are coordinated with the module manufacturer’s approved fixing zones.

Under-Panel Clamping

Where specified, modules can be secured from beneath the frame using a compatible under-panel fixing arrangement. This provides an alternative installation method while maintaining the required fixing positions and structural performance.
